April 2024 Update

Spring is finally here, and it's time to get outside and enjoy the offerings of the Sports Courts at Menlo Park Labs!

Whether you're interested in beach volleyball, basketball, tennis or pickleball, Ignite BioFitness has all the equipment you need for outdoor play. Ask our reception team to exchange ID for a basketball, volleyball or pickleball set for the duration of your game. (Please keep in mind that league play takes priority of the court.)

Also a reminder that Ignite BioFitness has an updated mobile app. Please visit the Apple or Google Play app store to update your app.

Here's What's Happening in April...

April 1st-5th: Dodge Ball Tournament

Come out and watch our first outdoor league event of the year on the basketball courts the week of April 1st-5th at 12 pm.

Seven teams will battle it out over the course of the week for the title of Dodgeball Champions and bragging rights in Menlo Park Labs!

April 11th: Total Body Outdoor Class

With the weather heating up, what better way to enjoy the outdoors than with a total body workout? Join us Thursday, April 11th at 12 pm in the rear parking lot for a total body class with Alys. Shade is limited, so please plan ahead with sun protection and a water bottle.

April 12th: Submit Your Team for Basketball League

Are you interested in putting together a company basketball team for some friendly competition in Menlo Park Labs? Please submit your team rosters and team captain to Sung (Sung@ignitebiofitness.com) by Friday, April 12th. Starting in early May, each team will be scheduled to play once a week. Prizes will be awarded to the league champions!

April 23rd: Barbell Basics with Sung - The CLEAN

Build your strength from the ground up in our barbell lifting series! These sessions are for members who would like an introduction to the barbell and want to learn how to do lifts properly under the watchful eye of an instructor.

This month's one-hour session will be Tuesday, April 23rd at 12 pm, featuring the CLEAN. Sung, a national level weightlifter, will give you an overview of proper barbell clean technique and provide feedback on your form.

There is no cost for this event; however, space is limited to 8 people. Sign ups open a week prior to the event.

And the Winner Is...

Kara competed at the Masters National Championships in Reno last month and outlifted all her competitors in her age and weight category! She received three gold medals for the snatch, clean and jerk and total, and was awarded the title of 2024 Masters National Champion.

A big thanks to Sung who programmed Kara's training leading into her competition.
