May 2023 Update

Hey everyone!

Now that the sun is out, it's time to get outside and take advantage of the Menlo Park Labs sports courts. Enjoy a tennis match with a colleague or some beach volleyball during lunch, or even just shoot some solo hoops. Volleyballs and basketballs are available to check out at the front desk. 

Speaking of the front desk... please welcome to our newest team member, Elijah! Elijah will be greeting you at the front desk in the afternoons and can help you with any of your gym needs. 

Please also note that Ignite BioFitness will be closed on Monday, May 29th for Memorial Day.

Here's What's Happening in May...

MAY 4th: Basketball League Kickoff

Come cheer on your company team in our Ignite Basketball league!

Games will be every Thursday starting May 4th at 4pm at the basketball courts. The courts are located between Synthekine and GRAIL (between 1505 and 1525 O'Brien Drive).

Prizes will be awarded to the league champions!

May 15th: Poolside Yoga with Asia

Join us poolside on Monday, May 15th at 12:15pm for a 45-minute outdoor yoga class with Asia. Breathe in fresh air and breathe out your stress as Asia takes you through various movements to promote relaxation and balance while building your strength and flexibility.

Make sure to plan ahead and bring your sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen) and water bottle. Space is limited.

May 18th: Barbell Lifting Series - Snatch with Kara

In May, Kara will take you through the barbell progressions for the snatch, one of two Olympic movements in weightlifting. Learn the basics of the lift under the watchful eye of an experienced lifter.

This month's one-hour session will be on Thursday, May 18th at 12pm. Kara will give you an overview of the proper technique and provide feedback on your form.

The cost per participant is $20 and space is limited to 8 people.

This will be the last barbell strength class until the fall, so come and join us!

NEW Tuesday Class: Mobility Matters

Starting in May, Tiffany will introduce a new class on Tuesday mornings in place of Boot Camp II called Mobility Matters. This class will focus on stretching different areas of the body to help you feel your best for the day.

Tiffany's back-to-back classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays are a great way to get moving in the mornings before work!

New Wednesday Class: pop Pilates

Starting in May, join us Wednesdays at noon for Pop Pilates with Laam. Feel the rhythm as you move through Pilates positions set to music on the mat. This is a full-body, equipment-free class that not only challenges your strength but tests your flexibility as well.
