November 2025 Update

Happy Halloween! As we move into November, please note our holiday hours and closures:

  • Tuesday, Nov 11th: Closed for Veteran's Day

  • Wednesday, Nov 26th: Reduced gym hours from 6am to 3pm

  • Thursday, Nov 27th: Gym closed

  • Friday, Nov 28th: Gym closed

There will be no group fitness classes the week of Thanksgiving (Nov 24th-28th).

Here's What's Happening in November…

Winter Sports Courts Reservations

Sports Courts reservations for the beach volleyball and basketball courts will be on pause starting mid-November during the winter period. The pickleball courts will be reservable until December 19th. We expect to reintroduce reservations in mid-March 2025.

If you would like to reserve a time for the sports courts between November and March, please reach out to Kara (kara@ignitebiofitness.com) and she can add your booking to the reservation calendar, which can be viewed under "Sports Courts" on our site.

Group Fitness Calendar Updates

We’d like to inform you of some upcoming changes to our group fitness calendar. After reviewing participation levels, we’ve made the difficult decision to remove the following classes due to consistently low attendance:

  • Core Concepts – Tuesdays at 4:30pm

  • Yoga – Tuesdays at 5:00pm (class will be replaced by Pilates Fusion with Mia)

  • Core Craze – Thursdays at 4:30pm

  • Yoga – Thursdays at 5:00pm

  • Pilates Fusion – Fridays at 12:00pm

We understand that this may be disappointing for some of our regular participants, and we truly appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm. As interest in group fitness continues to grow in the park, we remain committed to revisiting our offerings and hope to add more classes in the future.

November 26th: Register for Our December Climbing Event

It's that time of year again for our 4th annual team climbing event! This week-long team climbing competition, which takes place from December 8th-12th, will consist of routes with a designated point system, and each lap completed will receive points. Points will be tallied daily and averaged based on the team size.

The rules of the competition will be sent out to the team captain and displayed in the climbing area prior to the start of the event. We encourage climbers of all levels to participate.

If you're interested in putting a company team together, please email kara@ignitebiofitness.com to register your team. The deadline for team entries is Wednesday, November 26th.

If a team member has not yet completed the climbing orientation, they must do so by Friday, December 5th. And if you'd like to participate and don't have a company team, Kara will help place you on a team.

December 4th: Register for Our Holiday Cornament (12/11)

Join us on Thursday, December 11th (weather permitting - schedule TBD) for a year-end Ignite BioFitness Cornament.

All team entries consisting of two members must be submitted to sung@ignitebiofitness.com by Thursday, December 4th (with up to 14 team entries total).

Light refreshments and hot chocolate will be served. Corny holiday sweaters are highly encouraged. It may be chilly, but we expect your competitive spirits will bring the heat!

Please note: all participants must be registered with Ignite BioFitness to be eligible to play.

October 2025 Update

Fall is here! Don't forget: we're running a fall special on our SECA body composition scan. Now through December 12th, get two body scans for the price of one ($30). You'll get an overview of your body fat, muscle mass and more.

Email kara@ignitebiofitness.com to set up your first scan appointment today. Note that the second scan must be redeemed before December 12th for the promo.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE Winners

Congratulations to our 2025 Beach Volleyball league champions: Pac Bio! Thanks to all 8 participating teams for helping make this year's league a success. Here are the top 3 ranked teams:

October 1st-31st: Day of the DEADlifting Challenge

Are your lifts scary strong? From October 1st through Halloween, rise from the rack and show us your most monstrous deadlift! 👻💀

Participants will have 3 bone-crushing attempts in one gym session of their choosing during the month. All lifts must be witnessed by an Ignite staff member. The strongest ghouls and ghosts—aka men and women—will be crowned with spooktacular prizes for the heaviest deadlift.

To enter the arena of the undead lifters, email kara@ignitebiofitness.com... if you dare. 🕷️ Final results will be unearthed and posted on Friday, October 31st at 1:30pm (final attempts must be completed by 1pm on 10/31).

October 6th-31st: Walktober Challenge

It's that time again for our Walktober Challenge. Here's how it works:

From Monday, October 6th through Friday, October 31st, during your work week, track your steps every day via your Fitbit, Apple Watch, or other tracking app (Mondays through Fridays only.) We will add up the steps and see who comes out on top. The top three ranked participants will receive prizes.

September 2025 Update

We hope you've had a great summer! We have lots of fun updates as we roll into early fall, so please read all the way through.

First, some group fitness schedule changes for September:

  • Tuesdays: While Suzi is out, Tristen will step in to teach the Total Body Class at noon. Arielle is back and will be taking over Laam's Tuesday evenings classes until the end of the year. Arielle will be instructing Core Concepts at 4:30pm and TRX at 5pm (45 minutes) in place of Zumba.

  • Wednesdays: Join Laam at 5pm for a 45-minute Zumba class. Cardio Kick will move to a 30-minute time slot from 5:45-6:15pm.

  • Thursdays: Circuit Training with Tristen will replace TRX for September. We expect Suzi to return in late fall, so expect her classes back on the calendar in the coming months.

Do you like solving clues and doing physical challenges? Join us September 24th from 12pm-1pm for AMAZING RACE: Ignite BioFitness Fitness Challenge Edition!

Get to know your way around the MPL campus as you uncover your next location and complete fitness challenges.

We need 4-6 teams of two to move forward with this event.

August 2025 Update

We hope you're enjoying your summer! We have lots of fun updates for this month, so please read all the way through.

Please also note, we're introducing a new Group Fitness policy to help ensure a positive and safe experience for everyone: starting August 1st, all class participants will need to arrive within the first 10 minutes of class start time in order to join the class. (In other words, latecomers will not be permitted to join the class). This will not only minimize disruptions, but also ensure that everyone in the class is present for the instructor-led warm-up, to decrease the risk of injury.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a supportive and safe class environment for all.

August 7th: Volleyball Skills Clinic

Join Tiffany on Thursday, August 7th for a one-hour skills and drills session at the sports court from 12-1pm to sharpen your volleyball skills. Please bring athletic shoes, as some drills will be performed on the basketball court, aside from drills being done in the sand. Also consider bringing your water bottle and sun protective gear.

All interested members can sign up online under the "Classes" tab - this can be done up to a week in advance.

August 13th: Ignite BioFitness Field Day

Do you have fond memories of participating in field day back in your school days? Well now is your chance to put your field day skills to the test!

We have several fun and competitive events planned that require teams of two. Submit your teams to kara@ignitebiofitness.com by Friday, August 8th in order to be eligible to participate. We need up to 5 teams to move forward with this event.

All events will take place at the sports courts during the lunch hour on Thursday, August 13th from 12-1pm.

August 21st: End of Summer Cornament

Join us on Thursday, August 21st for our much-anticipated end of summer cornhole event. The first 14 teams to enter will be eligible for play. This is a single elimination tournament starting at 12pm sharp on the sports courts. Light refreshments will be provided for competitors and their cheering squad.

Please submit your team entries to sung@ignitebiofitness.com by Friday, August 15th.

August 29th: Summer Scan Promo Deadline

Take advantage of the final month of our summer SECA body composition scan promo. Get your appointment scheduled before August 29th for the end of summer deal: for $20, get an overview of your body fat percentage, muscle mass, etc.

July 2025 Update

Summer is finally here! With many of our instructors off on summer holidays, please be sure to check the class calendar for instructor changes throughout July and August.

We'd also like to welcome Tiffany to the evening class calendar as she will be taking over both of Mike's classes, Core Craze & Strength 101, on Thursdays.

Please also note that Ignite BioFitness will have reduced hours on July 3rd from 6am to 3pm, with no afternoon fitness classes. The gym will be closed on July 4th for Independence Day.

July 11th: Sign Up for Tour de Menlo Park Labs

Are you a bike commuter? Do you enjoy a workout on the Peloton? Join this year's week-long "Tour de Menlo Park Labs" July 21st through July 25th! All you have to do is keep track of your cycling mileage for the week (using a mileage app such as Strava), then check in daily with your results. Prizes will be awarded to our top 3 competitors.

July 16th: Rooftop POP Pilates

Join Laam on Wednesday, July 16th on the rooftop for POP Pilates at 5pm. Soak in the sun and enjoy the view for this 45-minute workout.

June 12th: Summer Kickoff Corn Hole Event

Join us on Thursday, June 12th at noon to kick off the start of summer at the sports courts and cheer on your favorite corn hole team. We plan to provide light refreshments to fuel the competitors and their cheer squad!

June 20th: Beach Volleyball League Deadline

Get your Beach Volleyball rosters together because the Beach Volleyball league will begin in July!

May 5th: Group Fitness Class Time Change

Please note that starting on Monday, May 5th, Yoga with Asia will now begin at 12 pm instead of 12:15 pm. This will be the schedule moving forward.

May 13th: Outdoor Total Body

With the weather warming up, what better way to enjoy the outdoors than with a total body workout? Join Suzi on Tuesday, May 13th for an outdoor total body class. Shade is limited, so please plan ahead with sun protection and a water bottle.

Registration will open a week before the class.

May 23rd: Cornhole Team Submissions Due

Partner up with a friend and enter a team of two for our next Cornament! Email your team names to Sung@ignitebiofitness.com by Friday, May 23rd. All participants must be registered with the gym for eligibility.

The Cornament is expected to be played on Thursday, June 12th at the sports courts, with the first bracket starting at 12 pm. 

Please note: we will be limiting the number of entries to 14 teams. The first 14 teams to enter will be registered for tournament play. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams.

April 2025 Update

Happy spring! In case you missed it, Tiffany's Heart Health Workshop recording is now available in our news section.

Also, Ignite is considering offering nutrition programs for members (at a cost), and we're trying to get a sense of demand - is this something you'd be interested in? Please email kara@ignitebiofitness.com and let us know.

Here's What's Happening in April…

April 3rd: *NEW* Yoga on Thursdays with Sophia

Join Sophia on Thursday evenings for yoga at 5pm beginning April 3rd. We will consider keeping this class on the group fitness calendar if participation levels remain consistent.

This will be a 45-minute class and will be held in the spin room. The class limit will be 8 participants, so register in advance to reserve your spot!

April 18th: Sign Up for 3-on-3 Basketball League

Join our basketball league which will begin the first week of May at the sports courts. We need at least 5-6 teams to move forward with league play.

Submit your 3-person roster (plus one or two subs) to Sung@ignitebiofitness.com by Friday, April 18th. 

April 23rd: Strength Series with Sung

This month, Sung will focus on upper body strength with an array of pushing and pulling upper body movements. This workshop is not limited to movements with the barbell. Sung will also cover dumbbell movements such as curls, rows, presses etc.

The class will be in the spin room on Wednesday, April 23rd from 12-1pm.

Registration will open a week before the class and is limited to 8 participants.

April 28th: Rooftop Spin Class

Join Tiffany on Monday, April 28th at noon on the rooftop for 45-minutes of Spin & Strength in the sun. Take a ride outdoors as you breathe in that fresh spring air and pedal to the music. Bring some sunglasses and water, as shade will be limited!

Registration will open a week before the class.

Here's What's Happening in March…

March 10th: Sports Court Reservations Are Back

Reservations for the tennis/pickleball court, beach volleyball court, and basketball court will be available online starting Monday, March 10th. For court availability, see the "Sports Courts" tab on our website at www.ignitebiofitness.com.

If you're in need of a basketball, volleyball, or pickleball set, visit us at the front desk in exchange for your ID. Please be advised that priority goes to league games and Ignite BioFitness events.

March 14th: Sign Up for Pickleball League

Ignite BioFitness will be hosting its first Pickleball league this year! Games are expected to commence in April.

Please submit your 2-person team by Friday, March 14th to Sung@ignitebiofitness.com.

March 21st: Dodgeball League is Back!

Get your team together by Friday, March 21st and submit your team roster of 6-8 participants to Sung@ignitebiofitness.com. Please also list the team captain who will be responsible for communicating all event updates.

We anticipate the first week of play to begin April 1st. Games will be held on the basketball court between 1505 and 1525 O'Brien Dr. The format will change this year from a week-long event to a month-long tournament during the lunch hour.

March 26th: Barbell Basics - The Deadlift

Join Sung on Wednesday, March 26th at noon to learn how to perform the barbell deadlift in a safe manner and help enhance your workouts. These sessions are for beginners that want to learn more about deadlifting basics.

Registration will open a week before the class.

A Cool Experience

And finally, thanks to all the members who came out for our first Polar Plunge event at the end of January.  We look forward to more of these in the future!

Here's What's Happening in February…

Group Fitness Class Swaps

Please note the changes to our evening classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays:

  • Laam will now be teaching Core Concepts at 4:30pm on Tuesday and Zumba at 5pm in the group fitness studio. Yoga will now take place in the spin room.

  • On Wednesday, POP Pilates will begin at 5pm and Kickboxing at 5:30pm.

  • Since Laam will be away for most of the month of February, Vincent and Tristen will take over these classes as noted on the class calendar.

CLASS HIGHLIGHT: CARDIO KICK

Kick it up a notch in Tristen's Cardio Kickboxing class on Wednesdays at 5:30pm. Elevate your heart rate and feel the energy in this fun 45-minute class.

February 12th: Barbell Basics - The Squat

Join Sung on Wednesday, February 12th from 12-1pm in the Spin Room for a full overview of how to perform the squat with the barbell and ways to incorporate it into your training routine. This class is for beginners or for those members that want to refine their technique. 

Registration will open a week before the class.

February 18th: New Climbing Routes Available

Starting Tuesday, February 18th we will have new climbing routes available. If you're interested in using the climbing wall but have not yet completed the safety training, please contact kara@ignitebiofitness.com to set up your appointment. 

February 19th: Heart Health Workshop

Join Tiffany via Zoom on Wednesday, February 19th at noon for some insight into how to improve your heart health. Discover simple, effective ways to support your heart through nutrition, movement, stress management, and better sleep. This workshop offers practical tips to create lasting habits for a healthy, balanced life. Perfect for busy professionals!

Group Fitness Calendar Changes

  • Starting January 6th, join Wendy on Mondays for 30 minutes of Boot Camp at 5pm, and 45 minutes of Kickboxing at 5:30pm.

  • Starting January 8th, welcome back Sophia to her regular Pilates HIIT class on Wednesdays at noon. This will replace Tiffany's HIIT class.

January 31st: Polar Plunge

Join Elijah, Kara and Sung for a dip in the cold plunge on Friday, January 31st at 12:30pm. Learn all the benefits of the cold plunge and how to control your breathing in 50-degree temperatures. All members who participate in the plunge will receive a free SECA body scan voucher ($30 value). Hot beverages will be available to all plungers!
